To a deer friend,

We just met today.
Suddenly.
Unexpectly.
Briefly.

Hours later,
I think of you.
My heart races wildly.

I was going home to be with my family.

Maybe you were too.
I wish we had met under different circumstances.
Some way that you didn't lose your life.
I'm so sorry.

I grieve,
For you.

I'm grateful,
For safety,
For safe children,
Safe arrival.

Sorry you had that exprience. It is a heart pounding one for sure. (I actually had to pull over and empty my stomach on the side of the road, and I didn't even hit it!) Glad you are OK.

Yikes! I hope you are all okay. That can do damage - to you, your car, and your psyche.

:( Hitting deer is so freaky and unsettling. Sorry you had to experience that with your boys!!

Oh no, how sad and terrifying all at the same time. I am really glad that you and your family are all okay. So sad for the deer though. I wish we could teach them to look both ways...

Crazy! Glad you're all okay! Happened once to me with Jaime's husband (JRoberts), who is my cousin. Of course, I was worried about the little deer and he was worried about the car. Both were fine...I think!
