Bored? Try goop.

It's a hot day, so why not make a mess.
Mix about 1/2 cup water with 2 cups cornstarch. It's a solid and a liquid.

Cover your hand like a glove, it is weird and cool and best of all, it washes off easily at least the starch part (see below).
You can drip it then pick up the drips.
Cut it in chunks and watch it melt back together.
We had a lot of fun poking and prodding it, molding and melting it. It is so interesting and bizarre and kills a few boredom bugs.
Warning: The recipe I found called for food colouring - but I can't recommend it. We have some long lasting effects...and yes we scrubbed.

That looks SO fun (and kinda messy!) To bad about the food coloring.

That is the funnest stuff. I did that with my kids a few months ago for a science project. It is oddly soothing! Not that I played with it!:)

You amaze me Kristin!!! How creative and diligent about doing all of this fun stuff with your kids. Sheesh, I can't help but feel like a really boring and selfish mother... lol.

This is cool! We made it at Jack's Science Center party. It was messy too :)

Thanks for the mention of Locks of Love. I have wanted to do that but my hair is not nearly long enough, it has to be 10 inches and can't be coloured, which mine is. I was actually growing it for that for months and months but it got to a length and wouldn't get any longer....
