Coyote Ugly

The tiniest wild bunny came to our house today. We found it in the garage. Adorable as it was, the sad note is, it had a large gash on it's back and a back leg looking not so good. I think it escaped within a millimeter of it little life (I hope, we'll see how it is in the morning). It was in quite a shock and I fear probably lost it's mother to the coyotes (there are three younger ones we've spotted together regularly around in the last month). Why does the food chain have to be such a heart-tugger? I've been admiring the playful coyotes until now. I'm so glad this little guy found a safe place to duck away from danger.

My niece Conley is quite a loving animal expert and has rabbits of her own. She, Travis, E and C made a nice, warm, habitat for it in a cardboard box. It preferred to stay in the leaves and grass on one side, opposed to the blanket on the other, being a wild animal. I know she and her sweet mama, Deanie will give "Rory" a safe loving home. Poor little thing. Look how tiny! The boys 4-yr-old hands look gigantic next to it!

Oh my goodness!!!!! What a darling little baby! How terribly sad that it was hurt. We have a rabbit in our yard too... naughty little guy's been munching on my zucchini.

Thanks for your sweet comments on my "memory" post. I'm amazed you thought that about me because I always wondered how it was possible that you were so smart, kind, successful, enlightening, and gorgeous at the same time.

Gosh, that little thing is so cute. What a fun project for your kids. Robin Valentine was always taking care of stray animals her boys brought home-ask her about it sometime, she's got some good stories! Hope your little guy makes it.

Megan and I were just reading about the bunny. It is so cute. We hope it gets better. It was lucky to find you before it became a snack to some wild animal.

How tiny! We have what seems like a couple hundred bunnies hopping around the park and I thought they were small. They look like giants compared to Rory though!
