For some fun craft ideas for Chinese New Year - check out what we did last year...
Seattle's International District held festivities today for Chinese Lunar New Year - celebrating the Year of the Tiger. Despite rain there was a large crowd out. We caught some kung-foo, Dragon Dancing, calligraphy and a really fun scavenger hunt through the district to some local businesses. At each stop we got a red envelop with a question. (Like at an Art Gallery - "Find the picture of the white parrots, how many parrots do you see?") When the answer was reported correctly we got a stamp. Pretty fun. We stopped for a yummy lunch too, orange chicken, sticky pork buns and a few fortune cookies. Thanks to everyone who shared their celebration with us!

Very cool!! Pays to live in a nice big, cultural city!
What a great idea! Can't wait until mr Z is old enough to take to events like this!
How fun! We were there too watching all of the festivities.
My kids would of gone nuts. I think it is official, you are in the MECA of amazing cool things to do~ I can't believe all that Seattle has to offer. I am so impressed that you continually find it for your boys, and now your huge FAN club. Seriously, Kristin, you are the coolest mom around!
I love the pict of the guy painting that is so cool! Mmmmkay so I sat down last night to start working on your pin cushion and took my new sewing machine out of the box from my birthday and after an hour trying to fix the stupid bobin gave up. BUT I have the cutest little pile of ribbons waiting to be sewn! Soon soon, I might have to break down and read the instructions! OMG what a concept!
Hi Kristin! Incredible pics. I don't think we have anything quite like that here. How fun for the kids! Love all your ideas. Spy party looks awesome too!
