Coo-coo for coconuts Part 2

So here is a follow-up to our letter "c" post -

We needed to see a coconut close up, touch it, taste it, smell it and...

prove that a real coconut does make a great letter "c" despite our attempts on paper.

How funny, I did the same thing with my son. I let him pick out a coconut to see what it looked and tasted like. He shook it to hear the coconut milk inside. It was a lot of fun.

Love the coconut idea, I will have to get one for my kids. They think kiwis are interesting enough, wait until they see coconuts. Thanks for the tips and links too!

This reminds me of a few years ago when Tatton (for some reason) got hooked on the song "put the lime in the coconut and shake it all up- shake it all up" He would sing it CONSTANTLY so we went and got coconuts and attempted to put a lime in them and shake them all up. Not a successful experiment (since all of the coconut milk spilled out while I was beating the crap out of the coconut trying to convince it to open), but lots of fun.

Did they like it?

Unfortunately, this particular coconut was a bit rancid - maybe the long flight from some coconut-growing place?
